Job summary

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the Rosa Service Organisation. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, with a focus on Windows Server administration and secure capabilities. The successful candidate will contribute to the transformation of the Rosa Service to a modern cloud-first platform.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2025).
  • Deep knowledge of Active Directory, ADFS, and Group Policy.
  • Proficiency in backup and recovery solutions.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere and virtual infrastructure management.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for task tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage and support core Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Oversee backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to optimize reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure automation.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures using tools like Confluence.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure standards and processes.
