Job summary
ARX Robotics is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to operate the infrastructure that supports next-generation autonomous robotic systems across hybrid and restricted environments. This role involves building and maintaining the operational backbone for secure, reliable, and recoverable engineering and deployment environments, working hands-on across Linux systems, networking, storage, monitoring, backup, and recovery.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience operating and maintaining Linux-based systems in production environments.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLANs, VPN/ZTNA, firewalling, and segmentation.
- Experience managing physical or virtual infrastructure including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, backups, and monitoring solutions.
- Confidence troubleshooting issues across Linux systems, networking, storage, and infrastructure operations.
- Experience automating workflows using Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tooling.
- Security-conscious mindset with practical experience in access management, patching, logging, and operational separation.
- Understanding of the discipline required in restricted or regulated environments, including least-privilege access, documented changes, backup verification, and controlled information handling.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a practical, hands-on approach to infrastructure engineering.
- Experience with VS-NfD environments, defense-sector IT, SINA-based systems, classified infrastructure, or accreditation-oriented operations is highly valuable.
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform or sovereign cloud environment, especially around networking, IAM, logging, compute, storage, or infrastructure-as-code, is beneficial.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, ELK, or Zabbix is beneficial.
- Personal projects or experience related to Linux, self-hosting, networking, hardware, or home lab environments are highly appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Linux servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, backups, and monitoring infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot physical networking including switches, VLANs, routing, firewalling, cabling, and rack/server infrastructure.
- Support VPN, ZTNA, DNS, routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity across operational environments.
- Build and maintain hardened infrastructure baselines, patch management processes, backup verification, and recovery procedures.
- Contribute to secure and scalable infrastructure operations across restricted and non-restricted environments.
- Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational observability for critical systems.
- Support controlled infrastructure operations including access management, audit logging, environment separation, and operational evidence collection.
- Maintain clear operational boundaries between public, internal, and restricted infrastructure environments.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure tooling.
- Support cloud-connected infrastructure patterns, including identity federation, logging export, monitoring integration, backup paths, and secure connectivity between physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Work with platform and cloud engineers on infrastructure-as-code, landing-zone guardrails, and operational standards.
- Participate in incident response, recovery testing, operational readiness, and future on-call operations.
- Contribute to documentation, operational runbooks, and long-term infrastructure reliability practices.
