Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Mainframe / Hogan Support (contract)

Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer role is focused on providing expert engineering support for Hogan Mainframe applications within a regulated financial services environment. Key responsibilities include maintaining Mainframe technologies such as z/OS and DB2, leading troubleshooting for production incidents, and supporting disaster recovery initiatives to ensure platform reliability and operational stability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Mainframe engineering and support experience
• Experience with z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ, JCL
• 1+ year of experience with AI tools and automation platforms
• Strong experience in production support and infrastructure issue resolution
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders
• Experience in on-call rotations

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the Hogan Mainframe environment.
• Support and enhance Mainframe infrastructure technologies.
• Lead troubleshooting for production incidents and outages.
• Participate in on-call support for critical business systems.
• Perform root cause analysis to improve platform reliability.
• Design and implement infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain JCL and automation scripts.
• Collaborate with application development and production support teams.
• Support change management activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
• Support disaster recovery and compliance initiatives.
• Mentor junior team members on Mainframe technologies.
• Ensure adherence to security and regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
