Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer role is responsible for developing and maintaining the server, cloud, and network infrastructure to ensure a reliable and secure platform for retail operations. Key responsibilities include providing technical ownership for Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS, as well as leading incident diagnosis and problem management for complex systems issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and identity services.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Strong experience with virtualisation and disaster recovery technologies.
• Capability in systems monitoring and performance analysis.
• Experience in diagnosing complex incidents and producing documentation.
• Scripting and automation experience, preferably PowerShell.
• Knowledge of cyber security principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience in 24 x 7 operational environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership and operational support for infrastructure services.
• Monitor platform availability, performance, capacity, security, and lifecycle status.
• Lead incident diagnosis and problem management for complex systems issues.
• Plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and patching.
• Maintain tested backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Automate administration and monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with network, cyber security, and application teams.
• Coordinate with managed service partners and vendors.
• Apply change and security controls in line with policies.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to support teams.
