Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer designs, builds, supports, and improves secure, reliable cloud infrastructure, primarily in Microsoft Azure. The role covers enterprise-scale Azure IaaS and PaaS, Windows Server services, security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery, while using infrastructure as code and automation to strengthen service resilience and operations. It also includes resolving escalated incidents, maintaining technical documentation, and providing rotational out-of-hours support.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Windows Server, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, File Services, backup, and disaster recovery
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure IaaS and PaaS services
• Knowledge of Azure management, monitoring, and security tools
• Experience with Bicep, Terraform, Git, and PowerShell for infrastructure as code and automation
• Experience maintaining secure enterprise infrastructure, including security controls and compliance

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, Key Vault, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and security services
• Maintain infrastructure security and reliability through vulnerability remediation, patching, and platform maintenance
• Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure issues to improve service resilience and availability
• Collaborate on technical projects and maintain architecture, standards, and operational documentation
• Improve infrastructure through automation and standardisation
• Balance project delivery, operational improvements, and escalated incidents
