Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and operates a scalable, resilient platform for HPC and AI/ML workloads, contributing to architectural direction and enabling teams to run workloads reliably at scale. The role covers virtualisation, bare-metal lifecycle management, Kubernetes across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, high-performance storage and networking, security, observability, and automated infrastructure delivery using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Go, and Python.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering infrastructure at scale in cloud-native, HPC, or AI-native environments.
  • Expertise in large-scale infrastructure deployments.
  • Strong Kubernetes fundamentals, including container networking and service meshes.
  • Deep understanding of virtualisation and hypervisors for high-performance workloads.
  • Proficiency with TCP, UDP, DNS, BGP, and software-defined networking.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Coding experience in Go, Python, or similar languages for automation.
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and distributed tracing.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and operate virtualisation solutions for AI-native and HPC workloads, including hypervisor tuning.
  • Scale platform capabilities for compute, storage, and networking demand.
  • Provision, orchestrate, and manage the lifecycle of bare-metal hardware.
  • Implement high-performance cloud-native storage and networking.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments using CNIs and service meshes.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery.
  • Harden Kubernetes security, manage secrets, secure software supply chains, and apply least-privilege IAM.
  • Build observability pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Automate deployments and operations using Terraform, Ansible, Go, and Python.
  • Create low-level designs, implementation plans, documentation, and runbooks.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to design reviews and architectural decisions.
  • Collaborate across teams and mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design feedback.
