Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

Leads a cloud and infrastructure engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, reliable services across Microsoft Azure and connected platforms. The role delivers IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities, including identity and access management, networking, storage, and compute, using Terraform infrastructure as code and supporting tools such as Python and Microsoft DevOps platforms. It also provides technical governance, security, integration, and problem resolution.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure qualification, such as Azure Database Administrator, Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Developer, or Azure Data Engineer; or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
• Significant experience designing and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage the infrastructure and cloud engineering team.
• Design, implement, and maintain critical cloud services with colleagues, suppliers, and managed service providers.
• Manage infrastructure environments and deployments using Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Design and implement network, physical, commercial, open-source, virtual, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Apply information security practices and controls to protect services.
• Advise or present to IT Change and Architecture Boards to support compliant, secure solutions.
• Investigate and resolve issues, identify trends, and develop preventative measures.
