Job summary

Sopra Steria is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Windows Server and VMWare to join their Aerospace Defence and Security sector. This hybrid role in Stevenage involves working on unique projects in an enterprise environment. Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.

• Good understanding of industry standard Windows infrastructures

• Ability to produce documentation for end users and operational procedures for service desk personnel
• Technical understanding of Windows Server (2012–2022) deployment and management
• Technical understanding of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy configuration and troubleshooting
• Technical understanding of VMware ESXi 8.x, vSphere, and right-sizing
• Technical understanding of Active Directory
• Technical understanding of Scripting and Automation
• Technical understanding of Monitoring tools/platforms
• Technical understanding of Patching and Compliance via WSUS/SCCM
• Technical understanding of HPE Hardware Management and Firmware maintenance for ProLiant, Blade Enclosures, and Synergy Frames
• Exposure to OneView

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hardware and software within server, network, storage, or desktop environments
• Integrate and test new hardware and software products for program infrastructure
• Administer and enhance the environment and its supportability
• Administer user accounts
• Control network access integrity
• Manage data, including space allocation, access authorizations, SAN, and optimization
• Provide second line support
• Respond, fix, or escalate issues according to SLA structure
