Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer provides problem analysis and support for a large managed service customer, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and operation of computer hardware and software. Key responsibilities include collaborating with technical architects to implement advanced technologies, troubleshooting enterprise-scale infrastructure, and managing VMware ESXi server platforms, Azure platforms, and SAN solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience of VMware ESXi server platforms
• Experience of Blade Server (Synergy) hardware management in a Datacentre
• Experience of Azure platforms
• Experience of SAN solutions (HPE); Installing, configuring, troubleshooting
• Experience with backup services (Veeam)
• Experience of installing and configuring Windows Server platforms
• Knowledge of general networking principles and TCP/IP
• Experience in formal project management and service delivery best practices
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear documentation

Responsibilities

• Work with technical architects to implement and deploy leading edge technologies
• Understand large managed service platforms and become a SME in one or more areas
• Work in a large, dedicated team and take ownership of infrastructure and platform issues
• Proactively transfer product skills and knowledge to customers
