Job summary
Thorn SDS is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Windows & VDI) to support critical defence operations by managing Windows infrastructure and virtual desktop environments.
Qualifications
- Experience with Windows Server administration
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Familiarity with Citrix and VMware Horizon
- Support for enterprise Windows infrastructure
- Understanding of ITIL service management
- Knowledge of network fundamentals
- Skills in performance tuning and patch management
- Experience in secure or defence environments
- Strong analytical and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain Windows Server environments
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Provide advanced support for Windows infrastructure and VDI
- Support Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and VMware Horizon
- Deploy OS updates and security patches
- Monitor infrastructure health and performance
- Investigate technical issues and perform root cause analysis
- Support ITIL-aligned incident and change management
- Collaborate with teams to improve platform resilience
- Maintain technical documentation and procedures
