(Senior) IoT Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)

Job summary

As a (Senior) IoT Cloud Engineer, you will own the cloud side of the IoT Platform, ensuring reliable and secure communication between IoT devices and cloud services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating cloud / distributed backend systems in production
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of MQTT and device-to-cloud messaging patterns
• Experience designing and running observability pipelines
• Comfortable working with data and BI tooling
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and platform engineering practices
• Strong reliability and security mindset
• Ability to guide architectural decisions
• Agile, product-oriented mindset
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
• Clear and effective communicator in English

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of systems at the intersection of Cloud Services and residential IoT Gateways
• Operate and evolve Kubernetes-based IoT Cloud Platform
• Develop and run Eclipse Hono stack as messaging backbone
• Design, build and operate features around fleet management
• Integrate tightly with Mender for safe OTA rollouts
• Contribute to load and resilience tests
• Build and own observability pipelines for IoT Platform
• Build data pipelines and BI models
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, IoT engineers, and cloud engineers
• Foster a culture of experiment-driven innovation
