Job summary

Daisy Communications Ltd, rebranding to O2 Business, is seeking a passionate and technically astute Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure within internal and externally hosted systems, with a focus on IT security, networking, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering complex integration and separation projects and will help define and develop the core IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • High level of technical proficiency.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex integration and separation projects.
  • Deep understanding of IT security, networking, and cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Involvement in project work, implementation, and planning.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • VMware or Hyper-V implementation, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • General System Administration skills including operating systems, hardware, and virtualization.
  • Experience with infrastructure security, firewalls, and antivirus.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and GPO.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012r2 through 2022.
  • Experience with various backup tools including Rubrik and DPM.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Cloud experience with AWS and Azure.
  • Cyber Security Knowledge.
  • Microsoft 365 Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and assist with implementation of standalone IT infrastructure.
  • Design, support, and optimize physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with external networking, infrastructure, and support teams.
  • Install new or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, directories, and storage.
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Manage and complete effective documentation of server procedures regarding design and implementation.
  • Perform system monitoring, verifying availability and integrity of all servers, systems, and key processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for the deskside support team.
  • Mentor junior members of the IT team.
  • Act on Cyber Security Alerts.
