Senior Java Platform Engineer

Job summary

Talan is seeking a Senior Java Platform Engineer to design, develop, and operate backend services and APIs primarily in a Java environment.

Qualifications

• 7 to 15 years of experience in software development
• Strong mastery of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and API design (REST/SOAP)
• Good knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL Server, JPA/Hibernate, SQL, and Liquibase
• Experience in CI/CD and DevOps: Git, Maven, YAML pipelines, and test automation
• Mastery of application security practices: OAuth2/OIDC, Kerberos, OWASP, and Secure Coding
• Experience in automated testing: JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber
• Knowledge of Vue.js or Angular
• Strong skills in software architecture, documentation, and production incident resolution
• Fluent in English, French appreciated
• Autonomous, structured, reliable, and collaborative profile

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Develop and maintain REST and SOAP APIs, including documentation via OpenAPI/Swagger
• Occasionally develop administration interfaces with Vue.js or Angular
• Integrate Oracle and MS SQL Server databases with JPA/Hibernate, SQL/PL-SQL, and Liquibase
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Maven and Git, including automated tests and quality controls
• Apply application security best practices and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Participate in automated testing strategy: unit, integration, and BDD/ATDD
• Provide production support, analyze incidents and performance, and improve reliability
• Document APIs, architecture, and operational procedures, particularly in JIRA
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure alignment of architecture with business needs and platform standards
