Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

Support the development and operation of network and infrastructure platforms, focusing on complex network landscapes and security concepts.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or a comparable technical field with relevant work experience.
• Extensive practical experience in building and operating complex network and IT infrastructures.
• Experience in enterprise networking and network security.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms and high-availability Linux infrastructures.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with security gateways, ideally Genua or Fortinet.
• Experience in configuring network fabrics, preferably Cisco.
• Good knowledge of Ansible and scripting for infrastructure automation.
• Ideally knowledge of OVN or comparable SDN technologies.
• Desirable experience with bare-metal infrastructures.
• Very good German (minimum C1) and good English (minimum B1) skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and operation of network and infrastructure platforms.
• Plan, configure, and administer routers, switches, firewalls, and security gateways.
• Optimize and continuously develop complex network landscapes.
• Develop and implement network and security concepts to ensure service quality and IT security.
• Project and operate complex system and network infrastructures in collaboration with project partners.
• Administer Linux-based server and router systems.
• Develop and operate containerized platforms based on Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Ansible and scripting.
• Create and maintain technical concepts and operational documentation.
• Analyze and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Contribute to the development of modern network architectures and cloud infrastructures.
