(Senior) Platform / DevOps Engineer – Kubernetes & Infrastruktur (m/w/d)

Job summary

As a Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer, you will build and shape infrastructure standards from the ground up, automating multiple Kubernetes clusters and Linux servers. You will also implement security measures in code and translate compliance standards into technical controls.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in operating complex Linux infrastructures
• Practical experience with Kubernetes in production
• Solid understanding of Linux, networks, and storage
• Good Bash skills and enthusiasm for automation
• Good knowledge of GitLab (CI/CD, repository management)
• IT security fundamentals (hardening, access control, logging, incident response)
• Structured, responsible working style and enjoyment of collaboration
• Willingness to share knowledge and support team members
• Very good German language skills (minimum C1)

Responsibilities

• Build and automate stable, maintainable infrastructure landscapes
• Operate, develop, and secure multiple Kubernetes clusters
• Manage Linux systems (physical servers, VMs, NAS)
• Automate deployment, operation, and maintenance processes
• Implement security by design in code: system hardening, access control, secrets management, logging & monitoring
• Translate C5, ISO 27001, and ISO 27018 requirements into technical controls
• Handle incidents at 2nd level (analysis & resolution)
• Shape infrastructure standards from the beginning
