Job summary

The Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer owns the stability, operation, automation, and continuous improvement of a platform supporting decentralized energy services. The role develops the platform as an internal product, improves container, infrastructure, and CI/CD processes, and strengthens monitoring and observability using technologies such as Kubernetes, Linux, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Helm, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus. It also includes standardizing platform architecture, maintaining operational documentation, and supporting audits.

• Several years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or a comparable infrastructure role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Linux, containers, and production operations.
• Experience with incident response, production debugging, monitoring, logging, and operational decision-making.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, deployment automation, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to work in complex system environments, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements.
• Clear English communication and willingness to collaborate regularly with the team in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the platform as an internal product in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Own the stability and operation of core platform and infrastructure components.
• Contribute to container, infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD processes.
• Assess systems, processes, and architectures to identify risks, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
• Standardize and incrementally consolidate existing platform structures.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operating procedures, and architecture overviews.
• Prepare for and support internal and external audits through transparent, traceable, compliant documentation.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational visibility, including standards based on OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
