Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Platform Engineer role is centered on Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps, and AWS architecture, requiring hands-on expertise across various delivery squads. Qualifications

• 5+ years' hands-on Cloud Platform Engineering experience
• Expert knowledge of AWS architecture, services and best practices
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) skills
• Demonstrable experience designing, implementing and operating secure, scalable VPC architectures
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages
• Experience mentoring engineers
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple squads, supporting a range of technical challenges and priorities
• Design, implement and improve AWS infrastructure
• Help build engineering capability across the Chapter by mentoring colleagues
• Work with teams to optimise cloud spend, improve observability, and establish effective monitoring and alerting
• Contribute to architecture decisions, engineering standards and platform strategy
• Help establish secure-by-default patterns and build compliance and audit requirements
