Job summary
The Senior Platform Engineer will analyze, plan, and develop cloud infrastructure architectures, provisioning infrastructure as code. This role involves owning and operating core AWS platform capabilities, shaping DevOps practices, and ensuring data protection and compliance. The engineer will also resolve platform disruptions and collaborate with software engineering to optimize infrastructure alignment with applications.

Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent qualification
- Solid professional experience designing, implementing, operating, and monitoring highly available cloud architectures (AWS, Docker) and distributed systems
- AWS generalist with hands-on depth across IAM, networking, compute, and various AWS services
- Experience operating key platform services such as container orchestration (Kubernetes, Amazon EKS) and event streaming (Kafka, Amazon MSK)
- Proficiency in provisioning infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and AWS CDK
- Automation-first mindset
- Prioritize reliability and security in infrastructure design
- Drive system design for complex services with focus on performance and cost
- Take ownership of complex projects, including architectural decision-making
- Share knowledge across the team
- Enjoy teamwork while also comfortable with individual ownership
- Fluent in English

Responsibilities
- Analyze, plan, and develop cloud infrastructure architectures for product platforms
- Provision infrastructure as code by default
- Own and operate core AWS platform capabilities including accounts, IAM, networking, compute, and managed services (e.g., EKS, MSK, RDS, ECS, Lambda)
- Shape DevOps practices, including CI/CD, GitOps deployment workflows (e.g., GitLab), and FinOps practices (cost monitoring, resource tagging)
- Build processes to ensure data protection, compliance, and regulatory requirements are met
- Analyze and resolve disruptions in platform operations to prevent customer impact
- Work closely with software engineering to align infrastructure optimally with applications
