Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

Own and operate production platform infrastructure for regulated services, maintaining compliance with federal requirements and an IL4+ security baseline. The work includes administering GitHub Enterprise Server, AWS GovCloud (US), Amazon EKS/Kubernetes, Terraform modules, and Microsoft 365 GCC High integrations, while implementing security controls, policy-as-code guardrails, automation, and remediation of audit findings and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in platform or cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE, with hands-on production environment ownership.
• Organizational-level experience administering GitHub Enterprise or a comparable enterprise source control platform.
• Expert-level Kubernetes/EKS and Terraform expertise.
• Strong AWS experience and cloud security fundamentals.
• Direct experience with GCC High, GovCloud, or other regulated or government-compliant environments.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance if needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer and harden GitHub Enterprise Server policies, SSO/SCIM, audit logging, branch protections, secret scanning, and access controls.
• Own AWS GovCloud infrastructure supporting regulated services and Microsoft 365 GCC High integrations, including Amazon EKS/Kubernetes.
• Maintain and extend Terraform modules and develop new modules as infrastructure evolves.
• Apply security-by-design across identity, networking, encryption, and secrets management.
• Validate and remediate compliance with federal requirements and IL4+ baselines, including NIST 800-53, CMMC, FedRAMP-aligned controls, and relevant DISA STIGs.
• Maintain evidence and documentation for compliance activities.
• Maintain policy-as-code guardrails that enforce CMMC and other compliance rules across Terraform-managed infrastructure.
• Monitor, patch, and improve platform reliability through automation and operational best practices.
• Remediate audit findings and vulnerability scan results.
