Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Platform Engineer builds and maintains shared technical foundations that enable multiple product teams to deliver independently while following consistent architecture, security, quality, and user experience standards. The role develops reusable services, SDKs, APIs, and Angular application components using C#, modern .NET, TypeScript, and AWS, and supports delivery through Azure DevOps, automated testing, and CI/CD. It also applies AI-assisted development practices and operational engineering to improve software quality, reliability, and developer adoption.

Qualifications

• Typically 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated technical capability.
• Hands-on experience with C#, modern .NET, ASP.NET Core and/or Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience designing reusable libraries, SDKs, frameworks, shared services, application components, or platform capabilities used by multiple teams.
• Understanding of application architecture, REST APIs, integration patterns, relational databases, asynchronous processing, and resilient service design.
• Practical knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, authentication, authorization, secure sessions, and common web security threats.
• Experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, peer review, and package management.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants for substantial engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reusable platform services, middleware, libraries, SDKs, components, templates, and reference implementations.
• Develop shared backend services with C#, modern .NET, and ASP.NET Core, including versioned NuGet packages.
• Maintain reusable Angular and TypeScript application foundations, SDKs, components, navigation, routing, lifecycle, and error handling.
• Establish reusable patterns for APIs, data access, caching, messaging, observability, and resilient service communication.
• Implement secure authentication and session patterns using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and BFF approaches.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, package publishing, and deployment automation.
• Create automated unit, integration, component, and end-to-end tests for shared platform capabilities.
• Develop documentation, templates, and reference implementations to support platform adoption by product teams.
• Investigate production incidents and platform defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
