Senior Platform Engineer - Core

Job summary

The Senior Platform Engineer designs and operates cloud infrastructure and platform services that enable engineering teams to deploy and run critical production systems. The role spans AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform-based infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer tooling, with responsibilities for incident response, reliability improvements, and mentoring. The work also involves partnering across teams to improve the performance, scalability, and operational health of cloud-native services.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with experience in backend systems and distributed architectures.
• Understanding of AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
• Experience operating Kubernetes workloads in containerized production environments.
• Knowledge of observability practices, including logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Experience with production incident management and operational support.
• Go or Python proficiency preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
• Java or Kotlin experience, GitHub Actions familiarity, or experience with Kafka and Cassandra is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable platform services and infrastructure.
• Build developer tooling, automation, and CI/CD workflows.
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure as code.
• Improve observability through logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Optimize deployment speed, service reliability, and cloud-native performance.
• Participate in incident response, post-incident reviews, and root cause analysis.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
