Job summary

Algolia is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with a focus on infrastructure automation for the Dashboard Platform team. This role involves contributing to the operation and deployment of Dashboard Platform features, building new services for the infrastructure platform using Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS, and creating tooling and guidelines for a great Developer Experience. The ideal candidate will lead projects autonomously, plan strategically for the company, and orchestrate changes across projects and teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of modern infrastructure management with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform on cloud providers like AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with AI coding agents.
• Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.
• Strong focus on Developer Experience.
• Well-spoken and written English skills.
• Experience with Go and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• Knowledge of modern web development including Javascript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS is a plus.
• Preference for candidates with experience at companies with over 10,000 customers, $50-200M ARR, high growth, and experience building internal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work on core features of the Algolia Dashboard.
• Build new services for the infrastructure platform to enable quick and autonomous deployment for all teams.

• Collaborate with developers to support the adoption and usage of tools.
• Lead projects with complete autonomy.
• Plan ahead and consider global company benefits over local project benefits.
• Ramp up on multiple projects and orchestrate changes across projects and teams.
• Contribute to the operation and deployment of all features of the Dashboard Platform.
• Take ownership, research, explore, and deliver world-class developer experiences.
• Share knowledge on software engineering, testing, and deployment best practices.
