Qualifications

• Strong software engineer with experience in designing, building, testing and operating production software
• Proficient in at least one modern programming language
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle with practical experience in improving software processes
• Strong opinions on effective software development while being pragmatic about team contexts
• Ability to design maintainable systems and balance speed, quality and complexity
• Experience with CI/CD, containers and cloud infrastructure
• Enjoy building tools and platforms for engineers
• Adopt a product approach to internal tooling, focusing on user needs and measuring adoption
• Ability to independently manage problems from discovery to delivery and adoption
• Desire for continuous learning and self-improvement

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal tools, services, APIs and command-line applications
• Improve workflows across coding, testing, code review, deployment and production operations
• Create service templates and paved roads for secure, observable and reliable software
• Enhance speed, reliability and usability of CI/CD systems
• Develop reusable platform capabilities for product engineers
• Assist engineers in effective observability with good defaults for logs, metrics, traces and service-level indicators
• Collaborate with engineers to identify friction, test ideas and support adoption
• Utilize feedback and workflow data to assess improvements in developer experience
• Contribute production-quality code, tests, documentation and operational support
