Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Platform Engineer builds and supports cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD systems, and internal developer tooling that improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. The role delivers platform projects, optimizes cloud costs, advances GitOps workflows, and strengthens observability and incident response while collaborating with engineering and security teams. Core technologies include Python, Java, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or software engineering
• Proficiency in Python and Java
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Experience with CI/CD and GitOps
• Infrastructure as Code expertise with Terraform
• Strong AWS and cloud-native experience
• Experience operating distributed, high-availability systems
• Ability to independently deliver defined projects
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Must live in the UK or Ireland; visa sponsorship is not offered

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform projects from implementation through production
• Build and maintain internal platform services and developer tooling
• Partner with application teams to align platform capabilities with developer needs
• Optimize cloud and infrastructure costs
• Improve observability, automation, and incident response
• Evolve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
