Job summary
Build and operate the cloud-native platform underpinning a real-money prediction and trading exchange, with a focus on high availability, low latency, security, and reliable scaling. Develop platform tools and automation, improve CI/CD and observability, create load-testing environments and mock integrations, and use AI coding assistants safely while supporting incident response and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications
- At least 5 years of software, backend, or platform engineering experience.
- Experience delivering production software and building scalable cloud-native environments.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience operating and troubleshooting production workloads.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform.
- High proficiency in Java and Python; Go is a plus.
- Understanding of distributed systems and trade-offs among latency, availability, scalability, and operational complexity.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and using observability tools.
- Proficiency with AI coding assistants and rigorous testing of generated code.
- Strong ownership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure, reliability, and developer-experience tools, services, and automation.
- Build and operate highly available cloud-native infrastructure for exchange and trading systems.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
- Develop load-testing environments, mock services, and integrations.
- Establish standards for AI-augmented development and validate AI-generated code for quality, security, and architectural soundness.
- Implement platform security safeguards and compliance standards.
- Improve observability through monitoring, tracing, alerting, and automation.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable platform solutions.
- Participate in on-call duties, lead incident response for team-owned services, and prevent recurring incidents.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
