Job summary
Own and modernise an Akamai edge delivery estate supporting global, latency-sensitive trading operations. Move configuration from manual Control Center changes to reusable Terraform modules, version-controlled rule trees, and guarded self-service workflows integrated with GitLab CI/CD and ServiceNow. The role also covers routing, DNS, caching, redirects, edge security, certificates, incident diagnosis, and multi-CDN resilience across staging and production.

Qualifications
- At least five years of CDN and edge delivery engineering experience
- Deep hands-on Akamai expertise, including Property Manager, Control Center, PAPI, rule trees, and activations
- Experience with the Akamai Terraform Provider and reusable infrastructure-as-code modules
- GitLab CI/CD pipeline experience
- Python or Bash scripting for vendor API automation
- Experience with edge hostnames, CP codes, origin behavior, failover, conditional origins, and traffic steering
- Working knowledge of Edge DNS or Global Traffic Management
- Experience with redirects, rewrites, Cloudlet policies, and legacy redirect modernization
- Knowledge of Site Shield, network lists, WAF, bot mitigation, and SSL/TLS certificates
- Experience with Edge Diagnostics, debug headers, mPulse, and traffic reporting APIs
- Experience with formal change-control processes in regulated or high-availability environments
Responsibilities
- Migrate Akamai configuration from manual changes to reusable Terraform modules and version-controlled workflows
- Build self-service workflows for routine edge changes with policy checks, validation, and staging tests
- Integrate edge configuration changes with GitLab CI/CD and ServiceNow change control
- Automate operational tasks using Akamai APIs, Python, and Bash
- Own the design, configuration, and operational health of Akamai staging and production estates
- Design and maintain redirects, rewrites, forwarding rules, and origin routing
- Set caching and content delivery strategies and manage purge workflows
- Support multi-CDN failover, disaster recovery, and edge resilience planning
- Configure and tune edge security controls, including WAF and bot mitigation
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates in coordination with Venafi
- Maintain an auditable inventory and review configuration drift
- Diagnose delivery, routing, and performance incidents
- Partner with platform and application teams on secure, performant delivery configurations
