Senior Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will ensure the uninterrupted operation of the LANCOM Management Cloud infrastructure, focusing on designing and operating Kubernetes platforms, automating processes, and improving system performance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Linux (Ubuntu/Debian or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes design, administration, and optimization
• Comprehensive understanding of networking technologies from internet routing to CNI layers
• Experience with load balancers and traffic management
• Knowledge of georedundant high-availability architectures
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices for Kubernetes deployments
• Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, Kafka, ClickHouse
• Proficient in German and/or English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Design and operate Kubernetes platforms with the LANCOM SaaS stack
• Manage the entire system lifecycle; improve security, performance, availability, and reliability
• Automate tests, deployments, configurations, and updates
• Operate and optimize ClickHouse and Kafka, including schema management and capacity planning
• Develop and validate georedundant architectures in multi-cloud environments
• Troubleshoot and analyze incidents at the platform level
• Represent the platform team in cross-team meetings and architecture discussions
• Optional participation in 24/7 on-call duty
