Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their Platform and Operations Team in Uxbridge. This role involves developing and scaling a cloud platform for R&D and production environments, managing infrastructure across cloud and on-premises, and driving a security-first mindset. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an award-winning product within Motorola Solution’s next-generation security solutions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate outstanding technical ability.

• Experienced in converting outline requirements into detailed implementation plans.
• Passionate technologist with impressive infrastructure knowledge in Linux, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, and Bash.
• Committed to airtight tests and implementing new features.
• Understands day 0/1 needs and plans for operation at day 2 and beyond.
• Enjoys finding or developing and using the right tools for the job, and sharing them.
• Enjoys using chaos-engineering principles to make an entire system robust.

• Knowledge or experience in cloud architecture development, ideally across Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS.
• Knowledge or experience with a modern high-level programming language such as Go, Python, or Javascript.
• Knowledgeable in continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment processes and tooling (e.g., GitHub Workflows/Actions or Jenkins).
