Job summary

Mot*** is seeking a highly motivated Senior Platform Engineer to join their Digital Unit in London. The role involves designing and maintaining a scalable internal developer platform, managing infrastructure as code, and implementing CI/CD pipelines, while also mentoring junior team members and staying updated with industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience as a software developer
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language (C#, Go, Python)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker
  • Experience with GitHub Actions
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs
  • Experience with MSSQL, PostgreSQL or other SQL databases

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain a scalable and reliable internal developer platform
  • Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Work with the Product Manager to understand software developers' needs and provide appropriate platform solutions
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for platform services
  • Monitor and optimize platform performance and resource utilization
  • Implement security best practices and compliance measures
  • Document platform architecture, processes, and procedures
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in DevOps and platform engineering
  • Mentor junior team members in a global distributed team context
  • Further develop skills across a modern technology stack and architecture
  • Contribute to a collaborative and positive team culture
