Senior Platform Engineer, Operational Data Store

Job summary

A Senior Engineer builds a production-ready Operational Data Store that provides low-latency operational data for payment experiences, fraud prevention, authorization enrichment, and merchant servicing. The role designs and operates resilient, scalable platform capabilities, automates tenant provisioning and governance, and shapes technical strategy using distributed NoSQL databases, Apache Kafka, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production
• Hands-on expertise with distributed NoSQL databases and data-serving platforms
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and cloud-native technologies
• Collaborative, ownership-driven approach and ability to influence technical decisions

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver platform capabilities for low-latency access to operational data
• Optimize read-path latency, scalability, and resiliency
• Automate tenant provisioning, governance controls, and operational workflows
• Evaluate technologies and validate solutions under production-scale workloads
• Establish engineering standards for a shared enterprise platform
• Build observability, resiliency, and recovery capabilities
