Job summary

Optix is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the evolution of their infrastructure and platform, transitioning from a legacy model to a modern, resilient system.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering experience
  • Deep AWS expertise across compute, networking, storage, and security
  • Proven CI/CD pipeline ownership in a multi-repo environment
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration using ECS or Kubernetes
  • Experience building and maintaining multi-tier environment models
  • Hands-on experience with observability tooling and on-call incident management
  • Ability to read and reason across application codebases in multiple languages
  • Strong documentation habits
  • Comfort with Git, Linux, Docker, and infrastructure as code
  • Clear communicator who can translate infrastructure decisions for engineering and leadership audiences
  • Legacy modernization experience with API migrations and frontend upgrades (nice to have)
  • PHP/Laravel and Vue.js familiarity (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve AWS infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, evolving toward a QA-gated continuous delivery model
  • Lead implementation of a three-tier environment model
  • Establish and own observability stack including monitoring, alerting, and on-call rotation
  • Define and lead incident response processes
  • Contribute to technical debt strategy
  • Work AI-first in day-to-day execution
  • Support engineering teams with environment-related needs
  • Participate in sprint rituals and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Contribute to a team culture of empathy and mutual support
