Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

Design and operate scalable, highly available infrastructure for a real-time business planning platform that processes and synchronizes datasets of up to billions of rows. Build infrastructure as code with Terraform on Google Cloud and Kubernetes, improve observability and incident response, strengthen infrastructure security and development pipelines, and contribute hands-on software development with the SRE team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer and platform engineer, including hands-on coding.
• Experience with a container orchestration platform; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Experience with a public cloud provider; Google Cloud Platform experience is a plus.
• Software development experience with languages such as C#, Java, C++, Golang, Rust, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, or Jaeger.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, humility, and willingness to grow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, automate, and scale infrastructure to meet platform performance demands.
• Maintain platform availability and redundancy.
• Monitor platform performance and correctness, and promote observability practices across engineering.
• Participate in incident response.
• Support geographic expansion for international customers.
• Partner with security teams on infrastructure and development pipeline initiatives, including code repositories and credential management.
• Improve and automate development practices and pipelines, and drive changes across software engineering.
• Read and write production software code alongside the SRE team.
