Job summary
The Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer designs, builds, and operates the Azure infrastructure and Databricks foundation for shared data products and future data and AI applications. The role owns Terraform and Azure DevOps automation, Databricks configuration including Unity Catalog, and improvements to platform security, reliability, performance, and cost. It also contributes to architecture and engineering standards while collaborating with data engineers and IT specialists.

Qualifications
- Production experience designing and operating Azure environments with private networking, identity controls, infrastructure as code, and automated deployments.
- Production Terraform experience, including reusable modules, state management, and safe changes across environments.
- Hands-on Databricks platform administration experience, including Unity Catalog, workspace access, storage integration, and identities.
- Experience building infrastructure CI/CD pipelines; Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Experience operating cloud platforms, including troubleshooting, recovery, lifecycle management, and cost optimization.
- Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into platform designs, evaluate alternatives, and develop solutions collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Azure infrastructure and the Databricks platform foundation.
- Own and improve Terraform code and Azure DevOps pipelines for automated deployments.
- Configure Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, storage integration, identities, and access controls.
- Monitor and improve platform reliability, security, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot platform issues and automate operational work.
- Collaborate on platform designs, architectural decisions, and engineering standards.
