Job summary

StackOne is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to manage the building, shipping, and running of their platform, scaling across their own cloud and into customer clouds. This role involves owning the infrastructure, deployment pipeline, and developer tooling, as well as packaging StackOne for customer environments. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, writing code and tooling, and setting standards for deployment and security.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in platform, infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps with hands-on AWS experience at scale (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, networking, IAM, KMS)
  • Deep IaC ability with Terraform and/or AWS CDK, comfortable owning modules
  • Strong CI/CD and monorepo build experience, including caching and incremental/affected-only test execution
  • Proven ability to optimize slow pipelines
  • Strong coding skills in TypeScript, Python, or Go, building tooling beyond YAML and configs
  • Experience with containers in production (Docker)
  • Kubernetes experience is a plus
  • Security-minded approach, baking secure defaults into pipelines and repo templates
  • Clear writing skills for documentation and runbooks for internal and external users
  • End-to-end ownership, including scoping, shipping, measuring, and automating tasks
  • Experience shipping software into customer clouds or on-prem (BYOC / self-hosted), or platforms like Nuon, Replicated, or Omnistrate
  • Multi-cloud (GCP or Azure) IaC experience
  • Exposure to Temporal, Kafka/MSK, ClickHouse, or OpenSearch

Responsibilities

  • Own infrastructure at scale, including AWS estate (ECS Fargate, Aurora, ElastiCache, MSK, OpenSearch, Lambda, KMS) and AWS CDK to Terraform migration
  • Ensure infrastructure reliability, observability, and cost-awareness
  • Build deployment pipeline for monorepo, including CI/CD and automated end-to-end testing with incremental testing
  • Ship to customer clouds (self-hosted / BYOC) using Terraform modules, container images, runbooks, and documentation
  • Own release and upgrade path for self-hosted customers, including versioned, signed releases, supported-version policy, and usage reporting
  • Set standards for new repositories, partnering with Security Engineer and tech leads for secure and deployable projects
  • Raise reliability through SLOs, observability, and incident response
  • Ensure system is easy to operate during incidents
  • Treat infrastructure as a product, providing paved roads and self-serve tooling for product engineers
  • Utilize AI (LLMs and agents) for IaC generation, test scaffolding, and runbook drafting with guardrails
