Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

Verisk is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to enhance engineering platforms and improve developer experience through automation and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or similar role
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Experience in business-critical production environments
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and engineering automation
• Experience improving developer productivity through platform tooling
• Knowledge of infrastructure standards and security controls
• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and applications
• Ability to navigate application code for platform-related issues

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns using Terraform and OpenTofu
• Develop automation solutions with Ansible to improve operational efficiency
• Design, implement, and support AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes platforms
• Standardize CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Enhance developer experience through automation and platform tooling
• Define and promote engineering standards across infrastructure and security
• Support the adoption of AI technologies and governance
• Improve monitoring and operational visibility across platforms
• Provide technical support for platform-related issues
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure and application challenges
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
