Job summary
Wickes is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure, focusing on automation and best practices in a DevOps environment.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure
- Expert-level proficiency with AWS services
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, primarily Terraform
- Strong expertise with Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go)
- Understanding of containerization technologies and orchestration
- Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Optimize AWS resource utilization and costs
- Implement and enforce security best practices across AWS environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues
- Architect, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Drive adoption of best practices for version control and workflows
- Promote a DevOps culture within the organization
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Define KPIs and success metrics for platform effectiveness
