Senior Platform Reliability Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Platform Reliability Engineer is responsible for operating the AI FactoryOS in production, managing the GPU compute fleet and platform services, including exabyte-scale storage and observability infrastructure. This role involves ensuring service levels are met, building automation tooling for self-healing capabilities, and leveraging technologies such as RDMA and Kubernetes to optimize performance and reliability across the estate.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in infrastructure, systems and platform engineering
• Extensive experience with scale-out, parallel or enterprise storage
• Substantial experience operating a virtualisation platform
• Expert-level knowledge of Linux systems
• Extensive experience operating observability infrastructure
• Strong skills in infrastructure automation
• Practical experience with scripting or programming for operational automation
• Working competence with Kubernetes
• Proven ability to act as a senior escalation point in production
• Practical application of least privilege and secrets management
• Clear technical judgement and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Operate the multi-tenant control and management plane
• Operate exabyte-scale distributed and high-performance filesystems
• Manage the GPU compute fleet in production
• Build and maintain automation and remediation tooling
• Diagnose and tune performance across the data path
• Deliver change as code and drive continuous improvement
• Operate observability infrastructure as a shared service
• Ensure services meet published service levels
• Provide technical expertise for platforms
• Lead technical recovery during major incidents
