Job summary
As a Senior Platform SRE at IG Group, you will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building and owning the reliability platform, implementing monitoring and observability, and mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Extensive working experience in relevant areas
- Hands-on OpenTelemetry experience
- Proven track record designing customer-meaningful SLIs
- Experience building pipelines with safety mechanisms
- Kubernetes experience required
- Production-quality coding in Java and/or Python
- Strong understanding of large-scale system failures
- On-call experience on production systems
- Experience designing and executing hypothesis-driven experiments
- Comfortable writing RFCs and presenting at engineering forums
Responsibilities
- Build and own the reliability platform
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability
- Establish and maintain 24/7 operational readiness
- Engineer self-healing capabilities
- Design and run chaos experiments
- Build automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to the SRE AI agent
- Mentor junior SREs and Reliability Champions
- Author and evolve the SRE standards
- Facilitate blameless post-incident reviews
