Senior QA Automation Engineer

Job summary

The Senior QA Automation Engineer role is essential for ensuring the quality of complex application systems through automation and continuous integration. Responsibilities include designing scalable test automation frameworks, automating tests for APIs and backend services, and collaborating with development teams in microservices environments. Proficiency in tools like GitLab and Jenkins is crucial for integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing in IT
• Concrete experience in test automation for web applications, APIs, and backend systems
• Excellent knowledge of tools like Selenium, SoapUI / Postman, JMeter
• Experience with CI/CD (GitLab, Jenkins or similar)
• Knowledge of one or more languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or Groovy
• Good knowledge of databases (SQL)
• Fluent in Italian and at least B2 in English
• Strong quality orientation and problem-solving approach

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable and reusable test automation frameworks
• Automate tests on APIs (REST), backend services, and enterprise applications
• Integrate tests within CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins or equivalents)
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams in microservices and distributed systems
• Contribute to defining test strategy and adopting quality by design practices
• Execute functional and integration tests, quickly identifying anomalies and bottlenecks
