Job summary

The Uni*** is seeking a Senior Research Infrastructure Engineer to join the Health Informatics Centre, focusing on the design and delivery of a secure research infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in computing, engineering, maths, or related STEM discipline
• Expertise in Linux systems and containerisation
• Proficiency in scripting and DevOps toolchains
• Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure
• Experience delivering secure systems for sensitive data
• Understanding of networking and system reliability
• Ability to communicate complex concepts
• Experience managing production infrastructure
• Familiarity with Windows systems administration
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proactive problem-solving mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Kubernetes-based TRE platform on AWS
• Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure across cloud environments
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices
• Ensure infrastructure meets security and governance standards
• Collaborate with researchers and data specialists
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring
• Build and support custom configurations and hybrid architectures
• Implement AI/ML support and scalable solutions
• Contribute to secure workflows for data management
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting
• Communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
