Job summary
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer improves the reliability, availability, and recovery of a critical investment platform. The role focuses on automating operational toil, establishing SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, strengthening incident response and observability, and designing resilience through chaos experiments, failover strategies, and graceful degradation. The engineer partners with product teams, mentors colleagues, and sets reliability direction across engineering.

Qualifications
- Experience in high-stakes environments such as FinTech, payments, banking, trading, or mission-critical SaaS.
- Hands-on expertise in SLOs, incident management, observability, automation, and toil reduction.
- Deep understanding of resilience architecture and graceful failure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers, delivering projects end to end, and setting technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Improve incident response and learning through runbooks and post-mortems.
- Establish SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
- Automate toil and build tools that help engineers focus on product work.
- Establish resilience patterns, including circuit breakers, bulkheading, graceful degradation, and intelligent rate limiting.
- Test system behavior under synthetic load and adversarial conditions.
- Design chaos experiments, redundancy patterns, and failover strategies.
- Partner with product engineering teams to embed SRE practices.
- Mentor engineers and set technical direction for reliability.
