Senior Site Reliability Engineer I

Job summary

Braze is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability and uptime of internal services and platforms. The role involves working closely with product engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technology stacks, while managing incident response and system design.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer
• Deep hands-on experience with NGINX
• In-depth proficiency with Kubernetes
• Excellent understanding of Linux fundamentals
• Strong programming skills in Ruby or Go
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code
• Strong conceptual understanding of systems design
• Excellent documentation and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Lead NGINX & Kubernetes Ingress Infrastructure
• Architect and operate ingress fleets
• Own and expand scaling routines
• Partner with product teams on resilient architectures
• Translate product requirements
• Manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• Conduct systems design and capacity planning
• Participate in proactive on-call rotation
• Lead blameless retrospectives
