Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job summary

Seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to enhance site reliability engineering, cloud operations, and automation for VA enterprise healthcare platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Linux environments, and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.
• Experience with containers and orchestration platforms in production.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and collaborate effectively.
• Eligibility for Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and mature Site Reliability Engineering practices across platform services.
• Improve service lifecycle focusing on availability, performance, and efficiency.
• Define and report service level indicators and objectives.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation.
• Design monitoring and alerting systems to enhance observability.
• Support cloud infrastructure in AWS and containerized environments.
• Align reliability practices with Federal security requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service reliability.
• Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews.
