Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job summary

Morningstar is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines, maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, and lead cross-team reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong working knowledge of Docker containers
• Proficiency in scripting languages
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix system administration
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
• Knowledge of SRE principles
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Provision, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Provide on-call technical triage and troubleshooting
• Lead cross-team reliability initiatives
• Deploy and manage containerized applications
• Drive automation and innovation for proactive monitoring
• Collaborate with software engineers and data engineers
• Write scripts and tooling in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
• Document infrastructure architecture and operational runbooks
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams
