Job summary

RBC Insurance Technology is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the performance and reliability of IT applications in the insurance sector. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for observability, monitoring, and automation, while also transitioning to AI-driven operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of SRE or Systems Engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code and configuration management
• Advanced scripting capabilities in Bash, Python, PowerShell
• In-depth knowledge of tools like Elasticsearch, Ansible, GitHub, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Dynatrace, Kafka
• Knowledge of SLIs, SLOs, and reliability metrics
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts
• Experience with intelligent monitoring and automation technologies
• Ability to design and implement human-AI workflows

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the SRE product base
• Implement and enhance AI-driven monitoring and observability capabilities
• Design and implement ML-based anomaly detection pilots
• Architect and develop AI self-healing solutions
• Design human-AI workflows
• Standardize application telemetry data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Implement and manage automation processes
• Develop and maintain custom tooling and automation scripts
• Work closely with development teams
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs
• Evolve runbooks into automated workflows
• Support deployments for reliability improvements
• Participate in incident and problem management
• Validate and govern AI outputs
• Drive transformation through automation
• Debug production issues
• Perform production support role
