Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job summary

Lead reliability practices across application teams as part of an SRE Center of Excellence, establishing shared standards and a production-ready release model. Define and maintain SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets in Dynatrace, integrate reliability checks and release gates into CI/CD pipelines, and support ServiceNow alerting, on-call response, incident reviews, and DORA reporting. The role focuses on helping teams safely promote changes and independently manage reliability across the software delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong SRE and reliability engineering experience, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, production readiness, and DORA metrics.
• Hands-on Dynatrace experience with RUM, services, synthetics, SLOs, alerting, dashboards, and distributed tracing.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitLab or similar tools, Infrastructure as Code, release controls, and automated reliability checks.
• Experience with Kubernetes, APIs, client-server architectures, and blue-green or similar deployment strategies.
• Strong knowledge of change management, incident response, on-call practices, ServiceNow, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience embedding reliability practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Ability to lead engineers or SRE practices, establish standards, and drive adoption across application teams.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, application owners, and business stakeholders.
• Outcome-focused experience managing milestones, deliverables, ownership, and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Embed with application teams in defined waves and provide reusable reliability templates.
• Define user-journey-based SLIs, SLO targets, time windows, and error-budget tracking.
• Implement SLOs and reliability dashboards in Dynatrace as code across non-production and production environments.
• Route error-budget alerts through Dynatrace and ServiceNow with runbook links.
• Integrate production-readiness checks, synthetic tests, reliability baselines, and rollback validation into delivery pipelines.
• Promote blue-green or similar release strategies to support safe rollback.
• Report SLO compliance and DORA metrics, including deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and time to restore.
• Join the on-call rotation and use Dynatrace and ServiceNow to investigate incidents and affected dependencies.
• Conduct blameless incident reviews and turn findings into runbooks or backlog items.
• Lead shared SRE standards and golden paths, train team champions, and review missed reliability targets with application owners.
