Job summary
The Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering (London) leads a globally distributed SRE team, providing direct platform support for Cboe's European operations and overseeing SRE staff across European and Asia-Pacific time zones. This role ensures continuous coverage of real-time low-latency trading platforms, guides project lifecycles, and drives strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
- Experienced leader.
- Deep subject matter expertise in software development, systems, network, application, or database management.
- Capable of applying knowledge to build stakeholder confidence and achieve desirable outcomes while preserving relationships.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business, Financial Services, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Technical Operations.
- Proficiency in UNIX Shell.
- Experience in Software Engineering or Systems, Network, or Database Administration.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or other programming languages.
- Experience in a Leadership or Senior Role.
- Networking (both TCP/IP and Multicast) and NIC Configuration are desirable.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Ability to communicate with clarity across time zones, cultures, and technical disciplines.
- Familiarity with European markets, US equities, options, and/or futures market structures is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a globally distributed team of SRE technologists.
- Provide direct platform support for Cboe's European operations.
- Hold oversight responsibility for SRE staff across European and Asia-Pacific time zones.
- Ensure seamless, continuous coverage of Cboe's real-time low-latency trading platforms.
- Support and guide the full project lifecycle to deliver operational requirements on schedule.
- Drive strategy across multiple organizational areas.
- Tackle complex problems lacking clear or full strategic definition.
- Provide technical leadership, support, and operational oversight for resiliency and high availability of critical business operations across European and GTH market sessions.
- Monitor Cboe production, disaster recovery, and certification systems for issues.
- Troubleshoot and drive resolution of issues.
- Analyze and optimize performance of real-time trading platforms.
- Oversee daily system checks and ensure Cboe platforms and systems operate as expected.
- Take direct action to resolve known issues.
- Assist the build team to resolve build/deployment issues.
- Lead, mentor, and guide direct reports across European and APAC time zones responsible for platform support.
- Delegate assignments to direct reports.
- Create and execute agile processes such as Kanban and Scrum to manage team workload.
- Ensure task completion in support of business projects and internal customer timelines.
- Connect direct reports to others within their team, department, and across the organization.
- Support training and development needs to create a best-in-class SRE team.
