Senior Snowflake Platform Engineer / Technical Lead

Job summary

Lead the hands-on implementation and operationalisation of a secure, scalable Snowflake platform for a large regulated enterprise, from architecture and configuration through production readiness. The role covers account and warehouse administration, access controls, networking, monitoring, CI/CD automation, and production troubleshooting, using AWS, Terraform, dbt, Snowpark/Python, and potentially Teradata as part of data-platform modernisation.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on Snowflake platform engineering and implementation experience
• Banking or financial services experience in large, regulated enterprise environments
• Strong AWS experience
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Hands-on experience with dbt and Snowpark/Python
• Experience with Teradata or legacy data-platform modernisation
• Relevant Snowflake certifications
• Ability to lead technical delivery and contribute directly to implementation and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on Snowflake platform implementation from the ground up
• Design, configure, and administer Snowflake accounts and environments
• Manage virtual warehouses, workloads, and resource monitoring
• Implement role-based access control, security, authentication, and access controls
• Establish networking, connectivity, monitoring, and auditing
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance and resource usage
• Provide technical direction and engineering guidance while remaining hands-on
