Senior Snowflake Platform Engineer / Technical Lead

Job summary

Leads the design, establishment, and operation of Snowflake data platforms in a banking environment, with a focus on secure, reliable, and cost-effective data management. The role covers Snowflake architecture and workload administration, access controls and governance, and deployment automation using CI/CD, Git, Terraform, and AWS. It also provides hands-on technical leadership and resolves production and performance issues.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience implementing and operating Snowflake platforms from inception.
• Expertise in Snowflake administration, security, and platform architecture.
• Knowledge of RBAC, SSO, authentication, data governance, and auditing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development, and release automation.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation capabilities.
• Experience in large regulated enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Establish and operationalise the Snowflake platform.
• Design Snowflake account, environment, and multi-tier architecture.
• Configure virtual warehouses, compute scaling, and workload management.
• Implement RBAC, authentication, security policies, and access controls.
• Establish networking, connectivity, monitoring, auditing, and governance frameworks.
• Design CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance, reliability, and cost.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, engineering standards, and platform best practices.
