Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - SRE to enhance the reliability of their Cloud databases for high-SLA customers. The role involves close collaboration with product engineering teams, designing automation for reliability practices, and leading incident response efforts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years engineering experience, 3+ in SRE/CRE/production engineering
• Strong preference for formal customer reliability engineering experience
• Experience operating multi-tenant systems in production
• Experience with programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Java)
• Knowledge of Linux internals, networking, cloud storage, and scaling
• Comfortable in an autonomous engineering team
• Ability to partner with product engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with product engineering squads
• Own production reliability for high-SLA customer environments
• Design and implement automation for reliability practices
• Ensure customers meet SLO targets
• Define and evolve per-tenant SLOs
• Proactively reduce SLO burn
• Serve as primary escalation point for incidents
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews
• Contribute to design documents and code reviews
• Influence feature design for scalability and operability
• Build automation to eliminate toil
• Improve alert quality and reduce escalations
